Fudge Cake
¾ cup butter
1 2/3 cups sugar
3 eggs
1½ teaspoons vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa
1¼ teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cup milk

Preheat oven to 325°.
Cream butter and sugar together.
Add eggs one (1) at a time.
Blend in vanilla and beat on medium speed for five (5) minutes.
Add remaining dry ingredients -- alternating with milk.
(Begin and end with dry ingredients!)

Pour batter into two (2) lightly greased 8-inch
pans and bake for 30 minutes.

Check for doneness -- may (will!) require additional 15 minutes!!

Fudge Icing
¾ cup butter
1 cup cocoa
4 cups confectioner's sugar
½ cup milk
½ teaspoon vanilla

Melt butter; add in cocoa and let cool.
In mixer bowl, add sugar and milk; add chocolate
mixture and vanilla. Cream until ready to frost!
