Gingerbread Houses
We had some very special guests during
our show this year -- Miss Judi's grandchildren!
T.J. (13) and Julia (10) came all the way from Houston, TX
and Timmy (10) and William (3) had a lot of fun -- as you can tell!!
Glue (for holding house together!)
3 egg whites
1 pound confectioner's sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
Blend all ingredients 5-7 minutes until light and fluffy.

| Gingerbread Dough
6 cups plain four
2 teaspoons ginger
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2½ cups solid vegetable shortening
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
8 ounces (fluid) molasses
5 ounces (fluid) white corn syrup
Combine flour, ginger, and cinnamon. Stir and set aside.
In mixer bowl, cream shortening and sugar and add in syrup
and molasses. Slowly add in dry ingredient combination and mix with mixer. Turn out onto lightly floured counter and knead.
Knead in additional flour if needed for firmness.
Cover well. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake according to size (10-20 minutes).
