Miss Judi heard that Jerre Hough enjoyed cooking and had an easy
pie crust recipe, so she invited him to be her special guest! We'd like to extend an

Jerre demonstrated his "Foolproof Pie Crust" recipe
to which any type of filling could be added.

4 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cup vegetable shortening
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 egg
1/2 cup water
With a fork, mix together first 4 ingredients. In a separate dish, beat remainng ingredients.
Combine the two mixtures, stirring with a fork until all ingredients are moistened.
With hands mold dough into a ball. Chill at least 15 minutes before rolling into desired shape.
Dough can be left in refrigeraor up to three (3) days.
Makes two (2) 9" double-crust pies and one 9" shell.

Fill with your favorite pie filling and bake as directed.
