Ham and Broccoli Bake

10 -ounce package frozen, chopped broccoli (1½ cups)
12 slices white bread (remove crusts)
4 ounces (1 cup) shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups cooked ham (diced)
2 teaspoons finely chopped onion
6 eggs (slightly beaten)
3½ cups milk
½ teaspoon salt

Pan coat 9x13 baking dish.

Cut each slice of bread with a doughnut cutter (or biscuit cutter).
Place scraps into prepared pan. Layer cheese, broccoli,
and ham over bread scraps. Sprinkle with onion and
arrange "doughnuts" on top.

In a medium bowl, combine eggs, milk, and salt;
pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 325° and bake uncovered for one (1) hour
or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
Let stand ten (10) minutes before cutting.
